Title: VP Purchasing - MUST have metals and raw material experience
Reports To: President & CFO
Responsibilities:
- Developing the organization's procurement strategy.
- Establishing departmental objectives across all responsibilities, monitoring progress, designing programs, and coaching staff for successful outcomes.
- Predicting demand levels through production planning and monitoring stock levels to enhance efficiency.
- Researching to identify optimal products and suppliers based on value, delivery schedules, and quality criteria.
- Serving as a liaison among Suppliers, Warehouse, Planner, Manufacturing, and internal departments.
- Identifying potential suppliers, conducting visits, and maintaining positive relationships.
- Negotiating contracts and overseeing their progress, including processing invoices.
- Forecasting price trends and evaluating their impact.
- Generating reports and statistics using computer software.
- Assessing bids and providing recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
- Keeping suppliers informed about business objectives.
- Participating in meetings and trade conferences.
- Recruiting, training, and retaining team members.
- Coordinating with the Warehouse department to prevent shortages.
- Ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, budget, and environmental objectives.
- Generating regular reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Providing leadership to meet or exceed expectations in various areas.
- Implementing systems and procedures to support the Company's growth and business strategy.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or supply chain management or related field required
- Minimum 10+ years of supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in international product sourcing, inventory management, performance metrics, and project management.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in steel and aluminum commodity management.
- Experience directing a Purchasing team required
