A rapidly growing Automotive Start-up in the Bay Area is seeking a talented Vehicle Controls Engineer to join the dynamic team. The team comprises individuals from diverse backgrounds including marketing, technology, engineering, design, and automotive enthusiasts.
Position Summary:
In this role, you'll spearhead the design, testing, and implementation of diverse control systems for electric vintage cars and trucks. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll play a pivotal role in driving technical aspects of new product development within the Vehicle Controls Team.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in automotive control systems, coupled with a knack for translating concepts into tangible solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing Eco's and vehicle systems
- Defining project requirements
- Designing essential system signals and logic
- Implementing and testing software and hardware
- Verifying vehicle systems and operations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for vehicle control design
- Hands-on experience with vehicle control systems
- Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols such as CAN and LIN networks
- Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering and project management
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills
- Experience in vehicle powertrain systems or dynamics
- Automotive industry background
- Familiarity with CAPL (optional)
- Passion for cars (not mandatory but valued)
