Senior Solutions Design Manager (m/f/d)
Our customer is a global leader in Logistics Services, covering Supply Chain Services, Freight Forwarding, Value Added Logistics. This household name is one of the largest and biggest players in the Logistics Services market and right now they are currently looking for multiple Senior Solutions Design Managers to join their growing team to support in the onboarding of new customers and creating of Contract Logistics solutions for their customers.
The Role
* To develop and design supply chain solutions for the most complex projects
* Manage solution design deliverables across highly complex projects
* Model scenarios of current and future operational solutions & present and advise alternative cost benefit analysis & value models
* Advise the customer in new & innovative solutions which address the customer needs and demonstrate clear solution fit
* Support the development of a commercial framework for proposed solution with Business Development & Key Account Managers in order to achieve DSC's growth, contract retention and continuous improvement objectives.
Your Responsibilities
* To coach the assigned SD team members on specific skills/ project needs
* To lead/ support the SD workstream in the pursuit of new business/ renewal of existing ones
* Provision of solutions/ analytical support for implementation/ re-engineering needs for key/ strategic projects as assigned
* To establish optimal costing/ commercialisation for New/ Existing business
* Engage and work closely with operations team on implementation of assigned projects
* Engage and work closely with BD and sector team on proposing solution design needs
* Outline solutions and commercial proposals in appropriate formats for presentation to internal / customers. Participate in customer presentations where required
* Develop and maintain good and effective communication across the business
* Actively seek to understand and apply innovation be it facility, fleet, technology or safety to solutions
* Develop collaborative relationships with customers to understand their priorities and requirements
* Delivers services and solutions to customers that meet budget, quality and service levels
* Drives / supports development of new / innovative services and solutions to meet customer needs, supporting the growth agenda
* Ensures our solutions are competitive by understanding the competitive environment in which we operate as well as our competitors solutions and approaches, allowing us to differentiate ourselves from their offering when required.
* Designing solutions to deliver business growth, retain and improve existing business
o Identify & manage Solution design resource requirements
o Manage the budget and resolve spending issues
o Coach the team in the use of resource calculation & costing tools
o Validate solution results against key financial BCA (Business Case Approval) expectations.
o Drive CAPA culture & process (corrective & preventative actions)
o Create opportunities for the team to develop key SD skills
o Govern the quality of Concept Of Operations documentation
o Develop customer coaches to help us win business
o Develop capabilities of Solution Design team
o Validate & sign off Solution Design plans for projects
o Set clear priorities aligned to the strategy
o Drive and embed compliance culture to H& S and other regulatory standards
Your Requirements
* Wide ranging knowledge of divisional products and capabilities
* Extensive knowledge of all Sectors, Customers and Products
* End to End SC Experience
* Full understanding of all SD tools, techniques and procedures
* Warehouse, transport and supply chain knowledge at a detailed level.
* Sales experience is beneficial
* Must have exposure to modeling of complex warehousing, logistics / transport operations, etc
* An advanced user of tools such as Microsoft Excel to perform complex data analysis
* Experience in at least one modeling / simulation tool
* Demonstrable track record in working with a diverse range of cultures
* Degree / Masters in relevant discipline e.g., engineering, or supply chain management
* 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in solution design and transport management
* German fluency at business level
