As the Regional Logistics Sourcing Manager, you will oversee and manage the sourcing activities related to logistics and transportation services and play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs, improve service quality, and enhance operational efficiency across the APAC region. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics and transportation operations, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for logistics and transportation services in the APAC region to achieve cost savings, service level improvements, and operational efficiencies. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, carriers, and other relevant suppliers. Monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon service levels, quality standards, and cost targets. Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement and address any issues or concerns.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, service levels, performance metrics, and risk mitigation. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while safeguarding the company's interests.
- Cost Optimization: Identify cost reduction opportunities within the logistics and transportation function through effective sourcing strategies, process improvements, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking exercises, and market research to drive cost-effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics sourcing function by implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and leveraging technology solutions. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency gains.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as supply chain, operations, finance, and legal teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives. Engage in regular communication and provide necessary support to ensure smooth logistics operations and timely resolution of issues.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to logistics and transportation. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
