Senior Estimator - Ship Repair Industry Opportunity
Location: Onsite in Bremerton, Washington, Everett Washington, OR San Diego, California
Salary Range: $70 ,000 - 100,000
Job Summary:
Join a leading ship repair organization in a key role as a Senior Estimator. You'll work on-site at either their San Diego, CA location or their Bremerton & Everett, WA site. Utilize your expertise to develop accurate labor and material estimates for Fixed Price and Time & Material RFQs, covering large-scale projects across various ship classes.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate expertise across various trades such as welding, machining, electrical work, structural tasks, piping, and rigging.
- Interpret and articulate requirements sourced from Request for Pricing/Quote documents accurately.
- Effectively decipher blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work specifications.
- Keep contact lists of clients, subcontractors, and suppliers updated for timely submission of quotes.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the management.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- Showcased 4-8 years of experience in ship repair or shipyard industry, ideally within a common trade like Outside Machinist or Pipefitter.
- Display thorough knowledge of ship repair specifications for ship-wide/multi-system repair initiatives and Standard Items.
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of ship systems, including propulsion, auxiliary systems, motors, power generation, fluid systems, and deck equipment.
- Exhibit strong communication skills essential for effective interaction with ship's personnel, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Display familiarity with bid estimate practices and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
