Key Responsebilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, with a particular focus on Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Provide safety training and educational programs for employees at all levels, emphasizing the importance of safety culture and awareness.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety incidents, training, and compliance activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits, ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes related to safety and PSM, and proactively integrate relevant updates into our safety programs.
- Foster a culture of safety excellence by promoting open communication, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management roles within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including compliance with OSHA's PSM standard (29 CFR 1910.119).
- Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
