Title: Project Manager, Ship Repair
Location: Everett, WA
Salary: $80,000-130,000
Our client is a leading shipyard in the Pacific Northwest specializing in repair, maintenance, and conversion services for various commercial vessels. They are seeking a talented Project Manager to oversee the contractual aspects of their projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable outcomes. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead support staff and tradesmen, facilitating optimal performance for all project teams within the shipyard. This role carries significant influence over the company's profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate internally and externally to achieve high profitability by understanding the full scope of work.
- Establish effective workflows for all projects in collaboration with the team.
- Oversee project life cycles from initial estimate through delivery and warranty period.
- Review and demonstrate proficiency over project contracts, sharing key information with relevant staff.
- Identify changes in work scope and implement appropriate planning measures.
- Lead regular cross-functional Project Team meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist Sales and Estimating in developing project proposals, estimates, and schedules.
- Monitor progress and update project management team on construction-to-budget status.
- Ensure crews adhere to correct construction procedures and specifications through personal inspections.
Qualifications:
- Strong background, skill, and knowledge in marine design, engineering, and manufacturing methods.
- Working knowledge of ship construction, repair, and conversion, including vessel types and systems.
- Proficiency in conflict management and stakeholder consensus-building.
- Familiarity with current rules, regulations, and standard practices of regulatory bodies.
- Strong organizational, time management, and Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in addressing workflow and efficiency challenges in a marine environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a suitable field with 10 or more years of marine and engineering experience.
- Project Management Certification and proficiency in MS Project.
- Advanced skill level in Excel, including Pivot tables and data visualization.
- Commitment to personal competency through ongoing education.
- Bilingual language skills (oral & written) a plus.
