Position Announcement:
A leading contracting firm headquartered in Massachusetts is in search of a dedicated Procurement Manager for a full-time role at our Norton location. This hands-on position will serve as a linchpin in the strategic planning, sourcing, and acquisition efforts for a diverse array of projects spanning underground electrical distribution, substation construction, and expansive utility-scale solar initiatives across the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster robust relationships with suppliers, leveraging negotiation skills to optimize value and ensure the superior quality of acquired materials and services.
- Conduct meticulous analysis of supplier performance, financials, and contractual agreements, maintaining open lines of communication to drive continuous enhancement.
- Facilitate the procurement process by promptly requesting necessary submittal information from vendors as needed.
- Offer expert guidance and support to Project Managers and Estimators, actively contributing to the selection and management of suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with project management and procurement teams to tailor procurement strategies to the unique requirements of each project, guaranteeing adherence to set schedules.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with vendor partnerships.
- Act as a liaison between Operations, Project Managers, and vendors to uphold stringent quality standards and swiftly address any non-conformances.
- Participate in project planning meetings and conduct thorough site inspections, ensuring strict compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations.
- Uphold adherence to company policies and procedures while actively participating in the enhancement of procurement protocols and best practices.
- Tackle policy concerns head-on and ensure unwavering compliance across the board.
Desired Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in procurement management, preferably within the domains of medium to high voltage transmission, substation construction, or solar projects.
- Proficiency in essential software tools such as MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint, with familiarity in construction management software being a plus.
- Superb communication skills, characterized by clarity, professionalism, and precision.
- Demonstrated prowess in negotiation, particularly in the realms of subcontract and purchase order negotiation.
- In-depth knowledge of the market landscape, particularly in the realm of large-scale facilities procurement and federal/state contracts.
- Previous experience in procurement for medium to high voltage distribution projects, substation construction, and renewable projects is highly advantageous.
