I am working with a global player in the automotive industry, to help them find a new Head of Logistics for their site just outside of Hanover. Please see the job description for this exciting opportunity below:
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Manage and lead a team of approximately 80 employees within the logistics department, providing both disciplinary oversight and technical guidance.
Process Optimisation: Develop, coordinate, and monitor all planning and organisational processes across various logistics functions including work preparation, production control, incoming and outgoing goods, warehousing, inspection, and packaging.
Supply Chain Management: Oversee the complete professional order, raw material, and purchased parts planning for series production, ensuring efficient and timely execution.
Standardisation: Create procedural work instructions to standardise processes and improve efficiency in the logistics operations.
Integration and Compliance: Act as the administrator for introducing new processes required by customers and corresponding portals, ensuring seamless integration and compliance.
Communication and Coordination: Establish and maintain effective communication channels with customers and suppliers to manage scheduling, bottleneck resolution, and overall supply chain coordination.
Inventory Management: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers, manage inventory levels, and optimise delivery schedules.
Financial Planning: Collaborate with Controlling to develop a multi-year business plan, considering capacity and value aspects to support long-term strategic goals. Prepare and justify investment and personnel planning, as well as manage budget responsibilities for logistics operations.
Compliance: Take responsibility for the annual inventory process, working closely with Controlling to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within logistics, preferably in the automotive industry.
Proficiency in German and English is required to facilitate effective communication with stakeholders.
Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, logistics processes, and industry best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of driving process improvement initiatives and achieving logistics objectives.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence key stakeholders.
