My client in the consumer goods industry is looking for a Global Category Manager to join their global procurement team in Germany to cover resins, plastics and some other raw materials. This role is ideal for someone looking to take a senior position in a global company as this role has a high level of autonomy to create and develop the global category strategy for plastics. My client are strengthening their research and development to ultimately create value through innovation and technology. This role would be suitable for a forward-thinking, resilient individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, develop and implement the global sourcing strategies, whilst driving expertise and process excellence. Identify and establish best practices.
- Own group-wide strategy, establishing relationships with vendors and negotiating agreements
- Ensure compliance with purchasing ethics whilst building and maintaining positive business relationships
Key Qualifications:
- Several years' experience in strategic sourcing, ideally with some experience focusing on resins or similar raw materials (from any industry)
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills; professional fluency in English is essential. Some knowledge of German will be beneficial but is not essential.
- The ability to demonstrate success in managing complex, cross-functional activities; whilst being actively solution-oriented.
