A leading company in the chemical manufacturing industry is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer. The role focuses on electrical integrity, reliability, and overall electrical health through the application of best practices. Your Role:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting and maintaining site-wide electrical integrity and reliability. You will ensure the smooth operation of our electrical systems and implement strategies to enhance their performance. Your role includes providing technical support, overseeing electrical projects, and facilitating the development of maintenance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Electrical Mechanical Integrity/Capability Business lead in maintaining stable and reliable business operations.
- Provide support in the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical projects to meet plant needs.
- Participate in site capital project specifications, drawings, safety reviews, shop inspections, and other project document reviews.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies for electrical assets such as transformers, motors, switchgears, motor control centers, UPS, SF6 GIS, protection relays, and power generation and distribution systems.
- Provide tactical and strategic support for electrical distribution and utilization systems.
- Identify, evaluate, and deploy new technologies to achieve reliability goals.
- Support operations, turnaround, maintenance, and project groups with electrical engineering expertise.
- Develop economical and technical justifications for capital projects aimed at improving reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve chronic electrical distribution equipment failures using diagnostic tools and root cause analysis.
- Assist in managing arc flash, electrical safety programs, and power distribution equipment repair work.
- Provide technical support in developing site maintenance procedures and electrical craft training.
- Identify and facilitate the implementation of reliability strategies and electrical best practices, including RAGAGEP.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of power distribution systems design, analysis, maintenance, construction, and installation practices.
- Professional experience with High, Medium, and Low Voltage power distribution equipment.
- Working knowledge of compliance and engineering standards (NEC, NFPA, API, OSHA, IEEE, and other RAGAGEPs).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience in a reliability technical role in a petrochemical or PSM-covered facility.
- Experience with relevant engineering software (e.g., SKM Power Tools).
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of facility/process design in engineering and PSM standards.
- Experience applying statistical tools to identify "Bad Actor" equipment.
