Role Overview:
The Electrical Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, testing, troubleshooting, and modifying software for production electro-mechanical equipment. This remote position requires a strong focus on software and electrical technology, with proficiency in Siemens Step 7 and related programming tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles.
- Provide comprehensive technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to installation and operation.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational problems to minimize delays and unexpected cost increases.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements for all completed work.
- Interpret operational interruptions, address design parameters, and implement accurate solutions in a timely manner.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical controls engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design, including the specification of vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems.
- Ability to effectively manage and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
