A Consumer Goods client is looking for an Associate Engineering to join their expanding team in their Los Angeles Metro Area location. My client is known for their wide variety of teaching resources, classroom decor, and high-quality learning products for kids of all ages.
The Associate Engineer will be responsible for engineering prototype development, product teardowns and analysis, and performing CAD designs. The Associate Engineer will be responsible for supporting the mechanical design of novel and sustaining furniture products and the role will involve building proof-of-concepts and engineering prototypes.
Responsibilities:
- Create/revise 3-D CAD designs and 2-D manufacturing drawings of parts and assemblies, including Bills of Materials, material specs, finishes, and critical dimensions.
- Support senior-level engineers in the mechanical design of new and existing furniture products.
- Adhere to project timelines and product cost targets.
- Build proof-of-concept and engineering prototypes.
- Run simulation analysis on 3D models before prototyping, with support of senior engineers.
- Perform various functions as applicable to design, including material research and selection, hand calculations and tolerance stack-ups.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2+ years in product development.
- SolidWorks proficiency; ability to create intricate 2D and 3D designs and assemblies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional manufacturing organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
