A highly successful and fast-growing retail business is now looking to hire a new Transportation Manager to help propel and elevate its Procurement team to the next level.
This Transportation Manager position is an interesting mix of both strategic + tactical operations. The successful candidate will be managing the inbound domestic transportation of commodities to fulfillment centers across the country. The ideal candidate will have had experience with managing transportation manually using Microsoft Excel and has had some exposure to TMS systems as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all inbound domestic transportation
- Oversee 3PL relationships, carrier invoices, and outbound loading
- Analyze and use data to optimize the transportation process and implement process improvements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years' experience in logistics, transportation
- 4+ years' experience managing a team
- Experience using Microsoft Excel (creating spreadsheets, pivot tables, v lookups, etc.)
- Experience with TMS systems a plus
- Retail industry experience is a plus
- Food/Cold Storage/Perishables experience is a plus
