Strategic Sourcing Specialist needed for an American Automation Company
- Base Range $85,000 - $120,000 + bonus

One of the nation's premier Automation manufacturers is looking for Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their rapidly expanding team!
This Strategic Sourcing Specialist is required to establish and deploy global procurement supply chain strategies in conjunction with crucial stakeholders within and outside the Global Procurement Organization. The candidate will report directly into the Purchasing Manager and have communication with Director of Purchasing and will play a critical role in leveraging their manufacturing background to achieve the best cost, quality, delivery, and technology requirements in support of manufacturing goals in the Oxnard, CA facility.
The Food Scientist - Regulatory Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Organize and implement, in coordination with key crucial stakeholders, purchasing strategies for sourcing programs in line with company guidelines
- Coordinate big projects / new product development through management of vendors and commodities, which include negotiating with suppliers for pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Coordinate supplier selection, qualification, and evaluation with other departments
- Interviews and negotiates with current and potential suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, and inventory control and management
- Guard company interests in all transactions via negotiation and value analysis techniques with the objective of achieving cost reductions in the manufacture, distribution, or sales of product
- Drive constant improvement through value engineering leadership on components and process improvements in product and packaging
- Create and uphold a thorough working knowledge of assigned areas of responsibility and perform the required purchasing and market research for assigned commodities
- Analyze market trends and prices, engineering developments and manufacturing method improvements
- Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality etc.
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, strategic procurement, ideally in manufacturing with progressive responsibility
- Effectively manage numerous activities simultaneously
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of and ability to read blueprints
- Expertise in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
