Title: Senior Purchasing Manager
Company Profile: A transportation company based in Newark, NJ is looking for a Senior Purchasing Manager to execute procurement and materials management activities.
The Senior Purchasing Manager Will Have the Following Responsibilities:
- Directing rolling stock and maintenance-of-way purchasing to ensure inventoried and non-inventoried material is planned, purchased and delivered
- Work cross functionally with different departments like Warehousing and Logistics
- Lead a team of procurement professionals
- Implementing supply chain strategy and overseeing contracts, making sure they are in compliance with Federal and State regulations
- Managing portfolio of internal client relationships
The Senior Purchasing Manager Should Have the Following Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Public Administration or related field
- 7+ years of purchasing, procurement and vendor management experience, preferably in a government agency environment
- Leadership and Management experience for at least 5 years
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with contract writing, negotiations, scheduling of projects and cost analysis
- Computer and Microsoft Office skills
