Summary:
The Research Associate II - Will focus on the fabrication, design and evaluation of food grade matrices. The scope of this position includes developing formulation with guidance from lead scientists, contributing towards external off site testing on the created products and to analyze and present consolidated data through various tools to peers, manager and the CTO. Candidates would be presented with the opportunity to train junior researchers as well as work in cross functional collaborative projects within the division.
The Research Associate II - should have the following skill set:
- Completed a BS/BA or MS in materials chemistry, biology, biomaterials, food sciences or a similar field.
- 2+ years of laboratory experience working in the food industry
- Experience in the field of food sciences/ food chemistry is required.
- Familiarity with GRAS certified substrates and experience with biomaterial characterization is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge in biomaterial/microparticle synthesis/fabrication will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience in cGMP, BSL1 and GRAS materials is highly desired
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks.
- Experience working with statistical analysis software such as Excel or JMP, and sensory software platforms will be preferred.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office and working with Google Drive is required.
- Experience with microscopy imaging (brightfield, fluorescence) will be preferred.
- Comfort with a fast-paced start-up environment and remote communication
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and maintenance is highly desired.
