Quality Manager - Plastics

We are working with a leading manufacturer in the production of waste containers for various markets, including residential, commercial, and retail sectors across the United States for a Quality Manager opening. The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the Quality System within the organization. This role involves enhancing the quality of parts and services provided to customers and improving internal operations related to quality.
The Quality Manager will be responsible for:
- Provide leadership for the Quality Engineer, Lab and Testing Technician, Document Control Coordinator, and Quality Auditors, including their training, motivation, and performance management.
- Oversee the plant laboratory, including equipment, processes, and procedures required for product inspection and testing.
- Manage Quality Management System procedures and documents to comply with ISO-9001 standards.
- Ensure product conformance to specifications throughout the product cycle, including incoming, in-process, and finished product inspection.
- Conduct audits of manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with national standards and customer/regulatory requirements.
- Oversee PPAP documentation for new projects and facilitate the APQP process.
The Quality Manager will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in quality management.
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards and Statistical Process Control.
- Membership in ASQ, SPE, or other professional societies is desirable.
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, Gage R&R, SPC, and FMEA.
- Strong understanding of injection molding and plastics technology.
