Job Description:
This leading Aerospace & Defense organization is looking to add a Manufacturing Operations Manager to their growing team of dedicated, passionate, and talented individuals. In this position the Manufacturing Operations Manager will have the responsibility of directly managing experienced professionals, associate managers, and supervisors. This firm is looking for an individual who possesses strong management and leadership capabilities, as they will have a significant responsibility to establish operational plans that will bring positive contribution towards the goals of the organization. This person's focus will be to provide measurable input of new product ideas, as well as operational standards or processes that will contribute to the overall success of the company.
Essential Job Functions:
- Direct oversight of the implementation of operational processes within production to meet the organizations cost objectives, quality expectations and overall production goals
- Organize and maintain production schedules that will allow for successful new product introduction as well as maintaining equipment efficiency and materials supply
- In charge of maintaining and administering cost budgets to remain in line with organizations procedures
- Manage, mentor, and develop all direct reports to ensure they are consistently meeting all expectations and assignments on time
- Responsible for hiring, firing, and promoting direct reports in accordance with management's review and approval
- Controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor and is responsible for managing two or more of the following activities related to operations: manufacturing, production planning, manufacturing engineering, test, quality, or shipping/receiving/stores.
- This person will report directly to the Vice President of the organization
Job Qualifications:
- Active Security Clearance Required, no exceptions
- 8+ years of experience in Aerospace / Defense manufacturing sector
- 5+ years of experience directly managing people in a manufacturing setting
- Extensive working knowledge of:
- Lean
- Continuous Improvements
- EVMS
- Six Sigma
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or other technical related degree
- Professional Engineering certification preferred
- Willing to occasionally travel for organizational meetings or events
