A rapidly growing 3D printer manufacturer is looking for a sharp Mechanical Engineer with a solid background in a manufacturing environment to join their team of engineers. This organization is creating/manufacturing the world's fastest polymer 3D printers that are affordable for professionals and businesses of any size. Their cutting-edge technology is exponentially surpassing traditional 3D printing productivity barriers and opening the realm of additive materials. In this small, yet dynamic company, you will do everything from design and analysis to drawings, prototype assembly, and testing. As a Mechanical Engineer working on product design and project management, you will help usher in a new age of 3D Printing Technology.
Responsibilities
- Supervise 2-3 junior CAD engineers
- Lead engineering changes and new features implementation into a new line of industrial 3D printers.
- Run schedules and maintain project timeline, work with vendors and suppliers to understand supply chain and make sure timely delivery of components
- Be involved in all aspects of product release, including prototype design to mass production production.
- Create product requirements and qualify designs against specifications.
- Design system components with detailed drawings for manufacturing using best practices and GD&T
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to perform detailed design and analysis
- Apply a strong analytical approach to the design process, including mechanics, thermals, and tolerance analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering - Mechatronics strongly preferred
- Machine or Product design experience
- 4+ years of industrial machine design experience + Project Management for machine and/or product design experience
- Experience with JIRA or ASANA (Strongly preferred) or other project management tools
- Skilled in designing for sheet metal, CNC, cast, and injection molded parts as well as implementing linear motion, actuators, sensors etc.
- Experience with SolidWorks, or other 3D design tools.
- Experience in the product development process, including specification, documentation, compliance, revision control, and BOM is a plus.
- Experience working with 3D printing / CNC is a plus.
