We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a dynamic aviation organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, with a focus on process improvement, capital equipment selection, and production optimization. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform problem-solving, continuous improvement, and enhance production capabilities for equipment, processes, and production design in all areas of manufacturing.
- Research and interface with vendors to evaluate and purchase capital equipment.
- Act as a liaison between design and manufacturing-related departments.
- Research, justify, select, and purchase capital equipment and/or processes.
- Learn to operate and troubleshoot capital equipment.
- Identify and resolve material and manufacturing equipment/process issues.
- Optimize work sequencing and workflows through machines and work centers.
- Make make-versus-buy decisions to improve production methods, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Coordinate outsourcing of parts and conceptualize tooling and fabrication designs.
- Develop and implement Manufacturing Engineering policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest manufacturing engineering technologies.
- Provide budgeting information and project status updates to management.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD, Unigraphics II, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
- Certifications in production center equipment, project management, or lean methodologies are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- Strong background in production machining, material forming, assembly, and process flow.
- Experience with process instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and overhead lifting/cranes.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and standard safety practices.
- Experience operating equipment in a production center and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
