Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and proactive EHS Manager to lead and manage our Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at our manufacturing facility. The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS management within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement EHS Programs: Design and implement EHS policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry best practices.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental risks. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Training and Education: Lead and coordinate EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure awareness and understanding of safety and environmental responsibilities.
- Incident Investigation: Manage the investigation of EHS incidents, including near misses, accidents, and environmental releases. Identify root causes and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to EHS performance, including reducing workplace injuries, minimizing environmental impact, and enhancing safety culture.
- Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring that the facility is prepared for emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, and natural disasters.
- EHS Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Coordinate with external auditors as required.
- Waste Management: Oversee hazardous waste management programs, including proper storage, disposal, and documentation of hazardous materials.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Lead sustainability efforts, including energy conservation, waste reduction, and pollution prevention initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Experience with risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or similar is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
