General Summary
The Director, US Operations, leads and oversees the logistics, warehouse, and transportation functions to achieve organizational objectives, optimize performance metrics and meet customer needs. This position leads safety initiatives, creates, and executes functional strategies, plans and procedures, and drives continuous improvement in costs through purchasing, inventories, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & motivate the operations teams, manage their performance and administration, ensuring their health, safety, and welfare
- Setting US supply chain strategy, in alignment with global Supply Chain and regional US business goals
- Maintain and improve purchasing procedures & accurate execution of those
- Ensuring time and quality of deliveries are met
- Executing the warehouse & distribution operations and engaging in price negotiations with current and new logistics vendors
- Ensure ongoing inventory accuracy through applicable inventory count policies
- Ensure international air, ocean, land and drayage carriers, local brokers agents and package courier are periodically evaluated, negotiated, and contracted
- Oversee and support optimization of inventory levels managed by the Planning team
- Ensuring medium and long term demand and supply planning is in place and mitigate potential future problems
- Collaborate closely with QC team on quality inspection on arrival according to defined standards
- Ensure proper follow up between customer and suppliers on customer complaints
- Play key role in digital transformation projects, including implementation of a new ERP system
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in supply chain operations,
- Experience with setup and/or running e-Commerce supply chain
- Proven experience with full staffing life cycle (hiring, performance management, terminations, promotions)
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with digital transformation projects, including ERP introduction
- Fluent English and Spanish (required)
- Must be willing to travel occasionally abroad
