Title: Associate Director Procurement

Company Summary: The mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients for chronic diseases. The companies product is being designed to heraid the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy.
The Supply Chain department needs an Associate Director Procurement professional who is analytical, strategic and creative. The Procurement leader will drive important procurement activities including identification of suppliers, validation and performance management.
The Associate Director Procurement will:
- Responsible for the purchasing of direct and indirect materials
- Support and oversee manufacturing raw material categories
- Is accountable for procurement targets set by the Functional Head
- Set, allocate and monitor project-specific targets
- Material planning to support manufacturing operations
- Manage supplier relations which includes change notifications, contract and price negotiations
- Implement and manage supplier key performance indicators
- Researches and aids in the approval of secondary/alternate suppliers to support cGMP manufacturing
- Manages procurement duties, including: vendor sourcing, request for quote (RFQ) preparation, request for proposals (RFP) purchase order terms and condition negotiation, proposal evaluations, and purchasing of cGMP and non-cGMP material, equipment, and services
The Associate Director Procurement should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience preferred
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience within procurement
- Technical proficiency with appropriate procurement systems and tools (SAP experience desirable)
- Experience in Biotech or pharmaceutical or personalized health care experience or cell and gene therapy manufacturing
- Expert knowledge in ERP systems
- Strong business acumen - the ability to understand challenges through the eyes of the regional business leaders
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus
