DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a safe work environment by minimizing and eliminating safety hazards. Achieve safety goals through safety awareness, prompt follow-up to accidents and near-misses, and individual coaching on safe work habits when required.s
- In partnership with the Director, Operations and Human Resources, is responsible for the application of company policies, and takes necessary steps to take disciplinary action to address violations of company work rules or policies in areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for team and individual development of supervisors through coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management. Establishes accountabilities for goals and objectives of direct reports.
- Ensure that supervisors provide hourly associates with adequate training to perform their jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
- Manage area(s) of responsibility using key performance indicators (KPI) while having the ability to analyze/root cause changes in KPI's.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships laterally, upward and downward among all functions/departments in order to accomplish the Company's mission and strategic goals.
- Possess a sense of ethics and an interpersonal management style that lends itself to promoting a positive work culture, making third party representation unnecessary.
- In partnership with other Operations Managers, effectively run the day-to-day operation of the facility (metrics, staffing, volume, etc.) to ensure all operational targets are met.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Distribution, Business Management, or related area of study.
- 1-4 years of first-line supervisory experience that includes leading and managing in a B2C fulfillment center or other fast-paced distribution operation.
- Skilled in the use of key performance indicators (KPI) to monitor, manage and improve operational performance.
- Proven track record of implementing quality and process improvements while reducing costs.
- Experience using one of more problem solving/root cause analysis techniques.
- Proven leadership skills in communicating a vision, implementing business strategy, managing performance, developing the skills and abilities of team members, team building, and conflict management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable effective communications with all levels of the organization (upward, lateral, downward).
- Excellent organizational skills - able to prioritize and plan activities and the work of others, allocate resources, and achieve results.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) & Labor Management Systems (LMS).
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to at least the Intermediate level. Knowledge of Access desired.
